Read the case study >Averro has done work across multiple industries, with projects of various scales. Here are some project snapshots & case studies of our previous work.
Project | Migration from BPOS to O365
Client: Peregrine Law Group, PLLC
Peregrine Law Group PLLC provides strategic advice and deal negotiation counsel to technology-focused clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies.
Prior to their project with Averro, Peregrine Law Group used BPOS as their tool for messaging, email, and business collaboration. The release of Microsoft’s O365 allowed for integration to the latest SharePoint, Exchange, and Lync, all without the limitations of web-based applications or data limits that BPOS presented. The bulk of the project was setting up and preparing Peregrine’s new O365 environment and migration of content from BPOS.
Averro facilitated with implementation, aiding users, documentations, and data migration for the BPOS to O365. Peregrine viewed the transition to the new cloud-based O365 platform as a necessary change to help increase collaboration and scalability of their practice.

Project | Food Frenzy Auction SharePoint Site
Client: Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP
Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP (DWT) is a global business and litigation law firm representing businesses based both in the United States and around the world.
Averro was approached by Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP with a project to build a SharePoint site. DWT needed an internal system for hosting their annual charity auction. Food Frenzy is their yearly auction in which DWT employees could bid on items over several weeks, with proceeds of the auction going to Food Lifeline charity.
The Averro team designed and developed an auction system to be integrated within DWT’s existing SharePoint Portal. Averro designed the site to be turned on or off for when the auction was active, giving DWT the options to list items, have employees bid on items, and to specify expiration of items and the auction. The site allowed for bidders to track their personal bidding history, receive automatic email notifications, and view their current bid on a particular item.
The Food Frenzy Auction Site facilitated an easy to use auction instrument, resulting in a higher number of bidding traffic, as well as a faster turnaround on bids. These improvements to the auction process produced an increase of auction profits. As a result of the success of the Food Frenzy auction project, DWT has since approached Averro to redesign and upgrade their entire intranet portal to SharePoint 2010. Our SharePoint design and implementation project for DWT can be seen here.

Project | Enterprise Action Notification Project
Client: Microsoft Corporation
Microsoft is a global corporation based in Redmond, WA who develops, manufactures, licenses, and provides support for a wide range of products and services predominately relating to computing and technology.
Microsoft consulted Averro to help customize their Office division’s intranet portal departmental site. The Office Division of Microsoft faced inefficiencies in their process of sending reminders to owners of their SharePoint Action Items within their portal site. Having numerous owners for their various tasks, manually sending reminders for these Action Items was a time consuming, but necessary, process. With SharePoint 2010 allowing for intricate customization, Averro’s resources modified the intranet portal for their enterprise level client to suit their specific needs. Averro’s team created an automated workflow to send reminders to task owners. Using SharePoint Workflow and SharePoint Timer Services, Averro effectively eliminated the need to manual email reminders, creating an automated process. Averro’s effort provided a streamlined means of executing a once time consuming project component, providing the Microsoft’s Office division more time to focus on the projects at hand.

Project | Intranet Employee Portal Project
Client: SeaBright Insurance Company
A nationwide insurance company specializing in workers’ compensation insurance, SeaBright Insurance Company is a subsidiary of SeaBright Holdings, Inc.
After having used Averro for a previous Business Intelligence project, SeaBright approached Averro for another project, but this time to create their internal intranet employee portal. Averro created the portal in SharePoint 2010 to be used by all 350 of SeaBright’s employees. This portal site allowed for collaboration of company events, news, document sharing, data sharing, marketing materials, and essential departmental information. Averro’s intranet portal provided an easy tool for SeaBright to share and collaborate with all of their employees.

Project | Claim Metric Business Intelligence
Client: SeaBright Insurance Company
A nationwide insurance company specializing in workers’ compensation insurance, SeaBright Insurance Company is a subsidiary of SeaBright Holdings, Inc.
Averro completed a Business Intelligence Claim Metric project for SeaBright Insurance Company. The Claim Metric project encompassed the development and documentation of multiple reports – each showing a different key performance indicator related to the insurance industry across vital sectors. Previously, the information had been calculated and displayed in MS Excel, with an actuary manually compiling the numbers – typically on a quarterly basis. The Claim Metric project successfully automated that process by interviewing the business users, clarifying the requirements and report definitions, documenting the calculations and report specifications, and allowing for the user to run the reports on demand. Users were now also able to slice and dice the results by different business environment dimensions (line of business, state, etc.). The report results are immediately available and allow for in-depth analysis, providing SeaBright the ability to understand changes and trends in their business, and maneuver quickly to both capitalize on their strengths, as well as mitigate any potential business losses.

Project | Transition of Desktops from Bayer Healthcare to Genzyme
Client: Bayer Healthcare
A global division of Bayer AG, Bayer Healthcare provides research and manufacturing of healthcare and medical products worldwide, across multiple divisions, including: Animal Health, Consumer Care, Diabetes Care, and Pharmaceutical.
Bayer Healthcare came to Averro for a one-year project to convert their desktops, labs, and departmental kiosks from Bayer Healthcare to Genzyme for FDA compliance.
Averro provided a team to execute the project deliverables. The project required readying all Bayer components for transfer and wiping, preparing all new Genzyme components for reception and transfer, and ensuring all stages of the transition.
To start, our team created a data image from the existing Bayer computers to be utilized in the new Genzyme computers. The team had to transition all employees’ data from the existing Bayer computers to the Genzyme computers. For this, the new Genzyme computers needed to be set up for each individual and their specific software. Bayer’s Lotus Notes Address book had to be transferred, uploaded and made accessible from Outlook contacts for the new management user system. Lab computers from Bayer required LANDesk and TrendOffice Microscan to be uninstalled with the new Genzyme user base requiring GMP networked instrument controllers to be included.
During the transition, not just data, but physical assets needed to be transferred as well. The new Genzyme computers and peripherals were deployed to the user base, while the old Bayer assets were reclaimed once all data had been transferred over. Leased Bayer assets had to be collected from the user base, wiped, and then shipped back to Bayer.
With the old Bayer components being reclaimed and returned back, and all the new Genzyme components individually set up for use, the Genzyme assets were staged for deployment. HR training assets were deployed and setup for use prior to Day 1. The SCCM client server and MacAfee Virus scan were both installed on Day 1 and tested. From start to finish, the Averro team transferred and closed down Bayer Healthcare’s existing user base while establishing, readying, and setting up the new Genzyme user base up to strict FDA standards, all while within budget and on time.
